Jeff Lewandowski DPT, ATC, MTC, SCS
The clinic is under the direction of Jeff Lewandowski DPT, ATC, MTC, SCS. Jeff has been practicing since 1986 treating patients with general orthopedic and sports related injuries. He received his Undergraduate degree in Exercise Science from the University of Missouri, his Physical Therapy degree from Rockhurst College, his Master of Science degree in Exercise Science from Georgia State University and his Advanced Clinical Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine. Jeff is a Board Certified Clinic Specialist in Sports Physical Therapy and a Certified Athletic Trainer. Additionally, he also completed the 235 hours of additional training and testing to become a Certified Manual Therapist.
Jeff is an educator as well as a clinician. He is a former instructor in the graduate Sports Medicine Program at Georgia State University and currently holds a clinical faculty appointment at Emory University in the department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He has taught numerous seminars throughout the country on the evaluation and treatment of the knee, shoulder and foot/ankle injuries and was able to teach with world-renowned orthopedic physical therapist Dr. Kevin Wilk. Jeff also authored the book Evaluation of Non-Orthopedic Sports Injuries (Slack inc. 2000).
Jeff enjoys spending his time out of the office with his family, which includes his wife, daughter, and five step-children. He also likes boating and fitness activities.
Allison Smith DPT, MTC, ATC
Allison has a Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine for Health sciences in St. Augustine, FL. Allison also has a BSEd in Exercise and Sport Science with an emphasis in Athletic Training from the University of Georgia.
While at the University of Georgia, Allison worked with the baseball, football, track & field, and tennis teams providing sports medicine coverage for practices and games. Allison also assisted with the sports medicine coverage for the 2003 NCAA Division I Men's Tennis Championships in Athens, GA. In addition to being a Physical Therapist, Allison is a Certified Athletic Trainer and has completed the training and testing to become a Certified Manual Therapist.
In her free time, Allison, enjoys spending time with her husband and playing with their dog, Captain. Allison also likes watching football, baseball and most other sports. She especially enjoys cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs from "between the hedges" at Sanford Stadium in Athens, GA.
Kate Hamilton, DPT
Kate is a graduate of Emory University's Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. With an extensive history in competitive gymnastics, dance, softball, and rock climbing, Kate has a passion for orthopedic and sports physical therapy. As an Emory graduate, she also gained valuable experience in the areas of pediatrics, vestibular rehabilitation, and wound care. With a minor in Spanish and the experience of studying abroad in Spain, Kate speaks fluent Spanish and assisted in teaching a course titled "Spanish for the Physical Therapist" in the Emory Doctor of Physical Therapy program. Kate has shown her dedication to the profession of physical therapy by serving as president of the American Physical Therapy Association's Student Assembly, speaking at multiple national conferences, and lobbying for patient rights on Capital Hill. Outside of work, Kate also enjoys spending time with her family, outdoor adventures, and volunteering at a medical summer camp for children with disabilities.
Kate graduada en la universidad de Emory y doctora en fisioterapia (DPT), siente una gran pasión por la fisioterapia ortopédica y deportiva. A lo largo de su vida ha practicado muchos deportes y ha competido a alto nivel en gimnasia deportiva, escalada y bailes. Durante el programa de fisioterapia realizado en la universidad de Emory, Kate ha adquirido experiencia en rehabilitación vestibular. Además, sus elevados estudios en español y su experiencia como estudiante en España le han permitido participar en la enseñanza de la asignatura "Español para los fisioterapistas" en dicha universidad. Kate ha demostrado su pasión y dedicación a la profesión de fisioterapia siendo presidenta de la "American Physical Therapy Association Student Assembly." Este importante cargo le ha supuesto dar conferencias de fisioterapia a nivel nacional. Además, ella ha aprovechado esta situación para luchar por las libertades de los pacientes en Washington, D.C. Kate dedica una parte su tiempo libre a participar como voluntaria en campamentos para niños con discapacidades. Además, le gusta mucho la naturaleza y disfrutar del tiempo con su familia.
